Pitu is the most common Brazilian Rum or Cachaca. Then you have Yipiorca, harder to find but more authentic, and of course you have the luxury "Leblon" which is expensive but certainly smoother. Look for it NOT by the rums in the liquor store but over by the lesser known ethnic liquors like Grappa, Amaro, the next aisle over. Its pretty harsh stuff, so you definitely need to mix it and offset it with some sugar and a sweet mixer like lime or fruit.
I need to try Brazilian Rum. Is there a brand in the U.S. to look for?? The picture looks like it was a great place and a great time!!
