It was an aged balsamic. When I got 1/2 way through I mashed the strawberry and added it to the drink. Then put another drop of vinegar in to round out the taste.

Was the balsamic aged and syrupy or not aged and more liquids? I'd imagine that one of those high end syrupy 12 y/o balsamics would be really interesting. Wonder what a dash of aged balsamic would do in a manhattan?
